At times, low-income senior citizens over age 60 need emergency repairs for their homes or apartments. Hamaspik’s RESTORE program steps in to correct conditions that pose an imminent threat to the life, health and safety of the homeowners and their families.
Funds ranging from $4,000 to $5,000 are available for plumbing hazards, furnace repairs, electrical problems, accessibility, structural issues and other interior repairs. RESTORE chooses known contractors that have worked with Hamaspik in the past and sets deadlines. The Hamaspik Construction Coordinator closely supervises the work until it is completed.
Hamaspik refers the elderly to other service providers for weatherization, home care, and other non-emergency needs to ensure their safety and security. RESTORE services are available for low-income elderly people throughout New York State.
